Dr. Robert Ridgeway

Originally from a small town in northwestern Georgia, Dr. Ridgeway received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from The Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and worked as a Process Engineer for several years before returning to school. He received his DVM degree from The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine in 1976, where he received special recognition for Exception Proficiency in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery. Upon graduation, Dr. Ridgeway practiced in both Greenville and Kinston, NC, before moving to New Bern and starting Ridgeway Animal Clinic in 1979. In 1987 Dr. Ridgeway opened The Pet Spa beside the Clinic to help provide additional non-professional services for our patients and clients. In 2008, the Clinic name was changed to The Pet Hospital of New Bern to clarify our association with The Pet Spa.
Dr. Ridgeway is married to the former Cindy Lamm. They have five adult children and six grandchildren (more on the way). At present, they have a loving yellow lab named Buddy. Dr. Ridgeway is an avid fisherman and duck hunter; he enjoys spending time with friends and family and, even with over 40 years of experience, still enjoys coming to work.
